I have an Addi Express circular knitting machine and it makes a hat in in about half an hour. As fun as the knitting machine is, you do get tired of cranking it. Anyway, I am making hats for a local group that puts them in bags along with toiletries, mittens and scarves for the needy. That whole how to inventory Anchor and J&P Coats embroidery floss made such an impression on my subconscious that it worked on that problem all night, and by the time I woke up, it had made the executive decision that, because I will likely never buy or use either brand of floss on purpose, I shouldn't spend hours trying to determine old or modern ( Read more... )

The part of a challenge that I suck at is the posting part. I was also down with a stomach bug or food poisoning, which didn't help.

I had one of my designs laser cut from chipboard by a local stationery shop and it was so delightful to receive them. It's awesome when your designs come true! I committed the sin of buying supplies without having a plan for them, however. I just knew I wanted to make Christmas ornaments. I won't be able to continue with the mala until we can pick up replacement cording; I'm hoping to find waxed linen in an appropriate color. I have some in navy, for a long-delayed mixed materials pin weaving project. And I may consider starting that if I ever find my board for the pins; I don't know where most of my craft tools are after the move. ( Read more... )

I have a friend who likes to order bracelets from me every so often so she can hand them out to some volunteers that work for her. Well, I hadn't heard from her in almost a year, until this morning. She needs 20 more bracelets ( Read more... )

I don't have a picture to share, but what I did today was pretty boring anyway - I finished one floor support for my plastic canvas dollhouse (kind of a rectangular box) and started another. Reminded me why I hate the assembly stage, haha! But I persevered!

I got a tiny bit more done on The Sorceress. It was a busy day!
